McLeodganj to Triund trek questions!

I will be in McLeodganj this April end, and was planning for Triund trek. Can this be done in a day? McLG to Triund in a day and back?

Easily. You might 'cheat' and take a taxi to the trail head at Gallu Devi Temple - start before 09:00am and you should have no problems being home before dark.

Also how is the camping scene there? Do I need permission to set up a tent?

Do you mean the peak? Plenty of people set up camp at the peak - I don't know if they have a permit or not.

Are there other treks from McLeodganj that can be done in a day?

Sure - 4 or 5 that I know of, although I haven't done. There are inter-village walks from McLeod Ganj - one to Dharamkot and Naddi; another to Bhagsu; one to Naddi and Bahl and then Guna Devi; a couple of other treks to temples. Any operator in McLeod Ganj should be able to point you in the right direction or provide a guide if you're so inclined.

Yes, truind is the great option. For that You have to start early morning and will come back to Mcleodganj in evening.
