hello all -- thanks already for the loads of info on these boards...now looking for specifics and feedback. am heading on a rather spontaneous trip to india, mainly in the northeast/west. however, since i'm getting about a month there, would love to get your ideas on how to ration the time since big chunks of it are pretty wide open. so please, hit me with all your ideas, both for what i've already laid out (hidden nooks of old calcutta that i won't find in LP?) as well as suggestions, tips on what else to do and how to get there. also, would love to eat well while i'm there -- restaurants, cafes, etc., are something i'm almost always to spend a bit more on, too...so recommend away! finally, any thoughts on weather considerations in creating this? is it just too hot in the south or is it all relative to the 30+ degree weather in the north anyway?
NYC-Kolkotaa (CCU) arrive April 15, to spend one week with a friend's family for a wedding (hard to not spend this time there)
