Indian visa validity

It depends.

Some visas you will be able to spend 180 days, some visas will require a stay of no more than 90 days, some might be thirty days. Single entry, double entry, multiple entry.

We need to know a lot more to even attempt a definitive answer.

What nationality are you? What national heritage do you come from? Where will you apply for the visa? Are you journalist?

Any restrictions will be shown on the visa eg, if the visa is for 6 mths with no restrictions, you can stay for 6 mths, if the visa is for 6 mths, with 'no single stay to exceed 90 days', then you will have to leave and re-enter after 90 days.

6 months FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE. NOT the day you enter India.

My point, old_hand, is that you can't blanket say "you'll get 180 days" there are a number of possibilities, and some additional information might rule some of them in or out.

I have no need for resuscitation, although some stupidity still takes my breath away.

As for my editing skills, I'm usually a polite soul, however I see some fairly tasteless commentary on here - haven't quite yet be prepared to lower my standards. However, consider yourself told.

Thank you. I would like to stay in India for 45 days. I have to buy the return air ticket to apply for imdian visa. I am from central Europa but I will apply for visa in Bangkok. My concern is that whether buy return air ticket for 45 days. What if I get a 6 month valid visa that let me stay only 30 days. Or is the 90 days the minimum?
