It's amazing what you can find with a quick [www.google.com] search...

Indian visa in Vientiane, Laos
Just posting my experiences of getting a visa...

It was very straightforward. Embassy is as per Lonely Planet map. I biked there but you could do whatever.

They accept visa applications in the morning (I think it was between 9 and 11 - something like that). You just fill out a form and give them cash. I'm English and mine was 56 USD.

They say it takes about 5 working days to process. I dropped mine on a Thursday and was able to collect it the following Friday so it's probably safe to allow a good week.

Collections are between 4:30 and 5:30pm - approx (they have a sign outside with actual timings).

All went very smoothly and everyone friendly and helpful.

Just to reiterate that a non-resident can't get a tourist visa for India at KL. I did encounter a resident foren who did get a tourist visa there..

Zoltan, it's amazing what you can do when you can read dates properly.

Don't lose time answering questions that I've already checked.

"Do you know if it is possible to get it in Laos?"

Did you not ask this question? Maybe it was an inposter Izaaki (different spelling), no..

edwardseco,

Not an inposter. It's me.

It's just that I am looking for updated information, as I have to get an indian visa in SE Asia and I need to know this information for sure (it is a long story as I have to move to another country only for this purpose, and Bangkok is expensive for me and Denpasar is not possible because my indonesian visa expires tomorrow).

The post referred by Zoltan is from 2010, so it is useless for me.

Thus, I think that there is no need to use this sarcastic tone. I am not offended at all, but if we use a forum like this we can ask everything we need to know, and there is no need to use this tone when answering.

Thanks for your answers and worries. :)

Izaaki, or anyone else,

Any luck getting an Indian Visa in Laos? If so, how long did it take to issue after you submitted your application?

I see on the Indian Embassy website that the Visa is usually issued the same day (http://www.indemblao.nic.in/visa.htm), while Zoltan mentioned it took 5 working days.

In any on the timing and the process in Vientiane on this would be great.

Indian govt websites are notorious for not being updated. However, I wish you the better result. It does happen by reports that we sometimes get..
