Hi everyone,
I would like to have some info about to get my Indian Visa in Bangkok....mainly, how long does it take? I am going in Bangkok only for that and I have to book my plane ticket before applying for the visa because they need it. Anybody has an answer for me please???

And what about the 2 weeks booking in an hotel requested? I never book an hotel in advance, much less for 2 weeks!! should I book the same hotel for 2 weeks with a website who doesn't ask my credit card and then cancel it after I got my booking?

Thanks a lot

Usually six working days.

The post above suggests you might by okay with a 2 night booking. And I'd really recommend booking a hotel in Delhi in advance.

I don't know if this is too late for you, but I did mine in September and it was a ridiculous hassle. I live in Thailand so I don't have much choice, but still...if I were you, I'd get it in your home country.

Yes you need proof of booking, but not 2 weeks. I think even a day is enough. Booking.com will take your credit card number, but not charge immediately, and you can cancel. In the same building as the visa office is a agency that will make a fake booking for 200 baht, if you prefer. You do need the plane ticket in advance, but perhaps the agency will make a fake one for that as well.

These are only a small portion of the hassles involved. Your application will be nitpicked and may be rejected repeatedly. When it's rejected, you take it to the agency upstairs to re-do and they WILL make mistakes, guaranteed. It took me about 4 hours to have my application accepted. But I met a woman who had been stuck in Bangkok for 5 days trying to get it right. Awful, awful experience.
