Hi!!

Travelling to India in January 2016. Recently read on the net that the Indian goverment has built a 3200 km road from Delhi to Bangkok(going through Myanmar)

Anyone has done this already? Any information for non-indian travellers?

Thanks!

Why would they do that? But there might be a secret plan to take over Thailand....

Besides, India has a problem to make 2-3 hundred km of highway let alone 2-3 thousand. Not to mention Myanmar.

I think you will find that the road is somewhat notional, but it does exist and is being ridden fairly regularly by cyclists.

As to why would they built it, simple. Trade. Also to stop China having the only access to Burma.

Well i think this will help our friend Amarkantak confirm that I ain't a troll ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India%E2%80%93Myanmar%E2%80%93Thailand_Trilateral_Highway

I am looking for more information about it though...I would like to drive from india to thailand. Need more info on driving permits, difficulties that may be encountered. Any road trip planning agencies or carrental? ETC.
