WE are planning to go to Goa in Dec. We have an 18mth and a 6mth old. Any suggestions as to where would be best to stay?Any suggestions of ideal resorts? Any other places in india that would be ok to cart the family around?

Hi,

With two such small kids I would take a packagetrip to one of the more fancy resorts.
Most travelagencies will have offers, I suppose.
Can't help you on specific resorts, but there will be plenty.

india is really child friendly. Infact travelling with kids opens so many 'doors' that other travellers wouldn't really expierience. you dont need fancy resorts with kids that age. there are many places to choose from in goa. Maybe a semi self catering accommodation would be a good idea. but then if you want to party at night maybe you need somewhere with a baby sitting service. it really depends on what type of holiday you are looking for. goa in dec gets rather booked up so you will have to book in advance.
good luck with your holiday

I agree with Castor. You will enjoy it better if you looked outfor self catering places as you can cook or get semi packaged food and ort your kids needs better. Make sure ou have hats for both of them.

corney, you really do need to be giving a lot more info, and asking a hundred times more questions.

I'd been to India 5 times before I decided to take my 7 month old daughter last November, I knew what to expect, yet I still spent months researching, and every minute of research was worth it.

I can think of hundreds of things to advise you, but I'm not wasting my time, I've spent hours answering these type of questions in the past and the person never never even acknowledged that they read the post, so please excuse my tone.

I'd just love the proper questions to come from you to show that you've thought this through properly.

It's no easy trip with small children, even if, like myself, you're completely comfortable with all India can throw at you.

If you've not been to India before, don't take small children, period.

The touts are so bad in some parts of Goa, that they try being very friendly with your child just to put you in an difficult position when the hard sell starts.

You can start by reading some of the following thread, it goes way off topic, but also has a lot of stuff in it that you may not think of, and has a link to another great thread at the end of my first post.

India with a baby.

Thanks
Steven ber, your trip report was great. We are used to traveling with little ones doing long haul flights and staying in obscure places but your report did help. I will check out the accomodation you stayed in at Goa. much appreciated
Corney

It's highly unlikely they will have any rooms available in December, they often get booked out for the season by regulars, a pity, it was a great place for kids.
