Hi. I am flying to Delhi on Dec 4 2018 with a "double entry two month E visa".. I would like to extend this for 1 month. How do I get an extension in Delhi or even Pushkar where I will be mostly? I will be going to Bali middle of Feb and then back to Delhi to Vancouver on May 22 ,2019.. Do I need a new visa for the last part of my trip or do I automatically get a transit visa when flying back to Delhi around May 22....I am trying to simplify this whole thing Thanks in advance Rolef

The e-visa cannot be extended, you must either leave India before your visa expires or arrange a totally different visa.

A transit visa is never automatically issued. You need to consider your flight booking for your return trip, if you book DPS to YVR then you simply need to change planes in DEL and remain airside and need no visa. If you book two separate tickets, DPS - DEL and DEL - YVR using low cost carrier airlines then you will need a transit visa to pass immigration.

Thanks.. I have already my Vancouver- Delhi - Vancouver ticket Dec 4 to May 22.. Trying to figure out how to stay in India a bit longer.... when that is confirmed I will buy my Delhi to Denpasar ticket..I need to have this ticket bought before I can get my Visa for Indonesia . If that makes sense? ... thanks

Best to get a 1 year multiple entry visa. See HERE

Yes the visa says very clearly (for an Indian official document) that it can't be extended. You can test this by going to the higher level FRRO and trying your luck with personality and charm..

Thank you for the comments I have decided to leave after my two month visa is over and head down to Bali . Still not sure about connecting flights in Delhi on my way back to Vancouver,, How long can you stay in transit in the Delhi airport? Flying out of Delhi May 22..Flying out of Bali May 21 ? Never been in that airport thanks again Rolef..

TWOV (Transit Without Visa):
Visa required, except for Passengers with a confirmed onward
ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. They
must stay in the international transit area of the airport and
have documents required for the next destination.

Bear in mind that if you use a low-cost carrier airline to get to Delhi from Bali you will have to collect luggage and thus pass through immigration so will need a transit visa. Choose your airlines and connection times carefully. The savings you make on a cheap air-ticket can be wiped out by the cost of a transit visa.
