We are a British couple in their 70's who booked a 5 day stay at the Wild Grass Resort, Chidyatapu, South Andaman due to start on February 24th 2018 through Expedia, fully paid. This resort has a star rating in the Lonely Planet Guide. When we arrived we were refused admission, the management claimed no knowledge of our booking, said they were full, & that Expedia hadn't paid them since 2016. We were made to leave, with nowhere to go, & given no apology or assistance in a remote area with no phone signal or internet access. We were very shocked & stressed & lost 2 days of our holiday making alternative arrangements.
We would like to warn other people who may be thinking of trying to book this resort of the rude & callous attitude of its "manager" Mr Ganapati Roy, & the dangers of doing so through Expedia from whom we have still not received an apology or explanation. Also Lonely Planet should reconsider its star rating given these distressing circumstances. I would not like to see anyone else - in their 70's or not - going through what we did.

Might I also suggest that anyone making a booking through a third-party website for a hotel in a very remote location get in contact with the hotel well before arrival, and confirm that one does indeed have a booking there... Regardless of anything else.
I suspect it's a problem with the resort rather than Expedia.
Agoda is not currently taking bookings anymore for this resort.
