Hello,
I am wondering what other’s experience of applying for the e-tourist visa for India has been like. How organized is it? Any problems using the online system? How long is the processing time/turnaround time? How much in advance and how close to my departure date can I apply for one? And is it valid for only 60 days from date of entry? Thanks in advance!

The online form is a trying process. Once that part is over its a smooth process . I did it on my phone in the afternoon in a Yangoon café , got the approved visa over breakfast in Bangkok next day , and flew in the next day. Fairly typical , the vast majority seeems to get it under 24 hours .

Thanks for your input vistet! How long was your e visa valid for? Do you know how much in advance one can apply for it? I won’t be going to India for another 4 months. Thank you!

Everyone gets the same length of visa , I got mine just before they upped it to two months. I think its max three months in advance for applying , but there isnt any real point in being early . One week ahead is a big safety margin , as long as you dont have any Pakistani uncles etc.

Interesting that you were able to receive your visa in one day. On the website I see that it says the visa must be applied for 4 days minimum before travel date.
Did you have to show proof of your exit of the country?

Pretty standard.

Did you have to show proof of your exit of the country?

Tickets in , tickets out.
