On my 7th day in India. Moving on from Jodhpur to Udaipur soon. I am starting to dislike my experience.

I love 209 pounds over the last 10 months. My weight before I left Canada was 201.8 lbs. My BMI is suppose to be 175 lbs. So I am very close to that Mark.
Yet I feel as physically disabled as I did when I was 411.5 lbs 10 months.

Couldn't ride a camel. Hard time getting on
Hard time getting off. Whole reason for Jaisalmer. Go to forts. Only see so much. Run into a long stair well with no railing and I have to go back. I have poor balance on stairs.

I have a limited diet and finding food to fit into is hard. For example almonds and peanuts. Not at a market. Maybe when I get to Jaipur and Then Delhi it will be easier to find as it's so freaking big.

I feel let down and disappointed in myself. So close to bmi and yet so challenged physically.
Also needing to take my shoes off at certain places. I have drop foot. Need to wear my brace in the shoe. If I don't I risk tripping.

I plan to do less from now on. Play it safe unless I am 100%sure I can do it.

Hang in there, Beny. Learn your limitations and avoid situations that are going to give you trouble. I travelled in India last year with my partner who has mild Parkinson's. No camel riding for us :-)

oh, take one day at a time. Just do what you can and think about how very far you have come. I wish you good days.

With the others, hang in there. I am normally in relatively good health but know that India can take a toll and make even seemingly simple tasks seem arduous. It is a very humbling thing. My advice is to give yourself permission to take a day off every now, find a cool place to sit and watch the ebb and flow. To me this is as much India as the grand monuments.
For people with specific dietary requirements, it can be difficult, not because it is not available in India but because it can be difficult for a foreigner to find and/or negotiate for. All I can advise it to ask your hotel manager, tuktuk driver etc. then stock up when you find it.
Thanks for the feedback. It is real life.

thank you for your comments. They help me a lot too. I love India but it can drive me and others crazy. Your tip of taking a day off and sitting in the cool and watching is very valuable advice and wise.
