I will be arriving by plane in Goa, in January, for my first trip to India from Canada, I'm pretty excited. I'm asking how much a taxi will cost to Arombal, or any other way to get there. Asking for recommendations for accommodations there in the 1,000R to 1,500R range. Thanks.

There is a public board for new season prices.. Share amongst 4... Probably more than 1500 this season....walk out a bit and you will always find a lower price but don't expect a/c.. Minimum one hour

Accommodation prices will vary from about 800 up to 3000 plus a night, it depends on how long you are staying. If it is longer than a couple of weeks i would suggest getting anything for the first couple of nights and then look around and talk to people. Its not a good idea to find something long term when you first arrive with all your luggage in tow and maybe a bit of jet lag.

The taxi from the airport should not cost more than 1500 INR ( 60 Km approx ). At the airport, you can find pre-paid taxi counter and inquire about prices. If you don't have much luggage and want to save some money, you can also opt for a very convenient AC bus ( Kadamba Transport Bus, 1 hr frequency ) from Airport to Calangute beach ( 150 INR only). From Calangute, you can then take a taxi to Arambol ( Approx 25km only).

Just when you exit the airport gate you will see some counters prepaid Taxi, and Kadamba Bus service. They will provide you with the information you need.

For staying you can just research via Airbnb, Tripadvisor and check for the best-reviewed stay and hotels in that area before arriving in India. You can call a few, shortlist and book depending on your preferences. Book something for a couple of days only first. In a few days, you can get acquainted with the place and book on the spot if you like something for long term.
