I am traveling alone to Parmarth Niketan (Haridwar) and want to know the best -and safest- way to get from Delhi to Rishikesh?
anyone going that way around the 18th of April?

you should probably be fine taking the train from Delhi to Haridwar, and then a short bus or taxi ride over to Rishikesh. there are several trains that arrive in Haridwar in the morning or afternoon, and the train is only a few hours so no overnight journeys to worry about. the Dehra Dun Shatabdi leaves around 7AM and arrives around noon -- there are Chair Car seats available for that date around now, according to the india rail website.

i wouldn't worry about your safety travelling alone on that route -- if you want a companion, well so be it, but i can't imagine that a train trip of a few hours on one of the more exclusive indian trains, during daylight, would be unsafe.

Greetings from the Holy city of Rishikesh !!

The most safest way to get to Rishikesh is by Train. As mentioned by opoponax you can take the monring shatabdi train to Rishikesh at 7am . The Whole train is Airconditon and they provide you meals while travelling.
