Hi. I will be spending 2 weeks in Leh, in August. Can someone recommend, from personal experience, a really nice homestay, suitable for a single, female traveler?

Better to move your post in the Indian branch.
Bangladesh is not the good one.
Ask to the mods to do it.

its better to stay in a hotel, would not cost that much if you can find the cheap ones.

Not necessarily looking for the cheapest option. Looking for a friendly family to stay with.

The last two years my father and I have stayed at Travellers House and really liked it.
It is kind of a cross between a guesthouse and a homestay. There is a building with eight guesthouse rooms, but the family home is only 10m across the courtyard. You can sit in their lounge room through the day, they make you tea/coffee and biscuits and some nights they will invite you to eat dinner with them.

The family consists of the grandmother, her two adult children and her two grandchildren. They are very nice, warm, decent Ladakhi people. The breakfast is great too.

It is a 10-15 min walk north of the centre. We paid 1200 Rs per night which I think is a very fair price,
