Does anyone have any experience traveling around Durgapur Upazilla?

I am curious to hear about what you saw, how you traveled around and where you stayed, etc. Did you stay in Mymensingh and day trip to the region?

Hi, I wonder if anyone could advise if/how you can book the rocket steamer from Dhaka to Khulna from overseas?? I have tried a couple of tour operators recommended else on here, but haven't had any response.

Also, has anyone used Green Bangla Tours?? Are they OK?

Hi there- I returned from Bangladesh 2 weeks ago and have a spare sim card if anyone wants it. It is with Grahmeen telephone company which I was told had excellent coverage throughout the country and which I found to be true. There's a tiny amount of credit on it. Did anybody of you community friends visit the Chittagong Hilltracks in 2009 or better in 2010?
I would like to go to Rangamati and Bandaraban and maybe Khagrachhari Districts.

Since the faxnumbers given are useless - how is the situation now? Do you need any permit to visit these areas and if what I have to do?

Does anyone know if there is a direct train from Dhaka to Kolkata? If I take a Rocket boat from Dhaka to Khulna, how difficult is it to travel to Jessore and catch a direct train to Kolkata? I know I have to have my visa stamped to cross the border by land. Thanks for any information.

Hi... I'm planning a trip to Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand and trying to figure out the most efficient/cheapest way to fly there from Los Angeles. Thinking out loud:

1. Open jaw ticket (using my mileage) - LA to Dhaka, and returning from Bangkok to LA.
2. One way ticket - Dhaka to Bangkok
3. Round trip ticket - Bangkok - Yangon - Bangkok

Putting the above in order:

Hi Everyone,

I will be going to Bangladesh in June and have some questions about obtaining a tourist visa (I know things can change from now until then, but am curious if anyone has any information).

I have read on the Bangladesh embassy/consulate websites for the US that visa on arrival is "no more than 30 days." Has anyone been given a 30 day visa on arrival? Or are they still giving 15 days?

Is "visa on arrival" given at airports only or has anyone ever gotten it at a border crossing?
