Hi

According to my Bradt guide trains leave the airport station 20-30 mins AFTER they leave Kamlapur. But i have just read that the train departs the airport THEN onto Kamlapur then on to Chittagong and so on.

Can anyone clear this up for me please?

Also as i arrive around 9am, i was hoping to catch the sleeper down to Chittagong. Which station would be best for "hanging" around or does it not matter?

Many Thanks

Onwards all trains to Chittagong must take a short break at Airport station after leave Kamalapur Station. Here is no alternative. Every day have some trains to Chittagong in different times.

No need to go Kamalapur railway station; it's just only time & energy lossing.

For details train shedule to Chitagong:

Train No Name Off Day From Departure To Arrival

702 Subarna Express Friday Dhaka 16:20 Chittagong 22:15

704 Mahanagar Provati No Dhaka 08:00 Chittagong 14:50

722 Mahanagar Godhuli Sunday Dhaka 15:00 Chittagong 21:45

742 Turna No Dhaka 23:00 Chittagong 06:15

Usally train seat maximum time little bit tough though to cheap fare, smooth journey and others.

No. The train will come from Kamalpur station to the Airport station and then proceed to Chittagong.

As mentioned above, trains start from Kamalapur and head toward Airport station on the way to Chittagong. There is no point going to Kamalapur -- it is way off and the traffic at daytime can be a nightmare.

Airport station is very small. By the way, there is nothing to do at both stations. You can't kill time at the airport either, as you cannot stay in the airport (which you can do in almost all international airports).
