hey you all,
as in an earlier post noted, i like to visit bangladesh with my girlfirend in june.
there came two more questions in our minds, which propably can be answered easily by some of you bangladesh specialists.

in an earlier post i read, it should be avoided to visit the countryside of bangladesh during monsoon season due to safety reasons. does anyone have an opinion about this statement?

another issue is, which places are worthy to be visited in june (may be als the beginning of july)? our itineraries would contain going to: barisal, khulna, chittagong and some small places in the countryside of north bangladesh, besides dhaka.
my girlfriend and i really do want to see how ordinary people live in bangladesh and therefore wondered if a visit to slum areas in dhaka is possible.

thanks to all who can help me,
god blesss you all.

A visit to a bosti is a good idea ! I also walked along the railway not far from Farmgate and that was also another experience !

I can recommend visiting both Chittagong and Dhaka, but what I like the most was the countryside. The cities are so polluted that spending a lot of time there can be tough.

When I was there I took a cab with a private driver out to see the countryside. We got of random places and talked with rice workers and people living in small villages. It was amazing and recommendable. We did it just outside Chittagong.

The great thing about Bangladesh is that people are genuinely interested in you, so everywhere you will have a good time.

You will find slum in both Chittagong and Dhaka. The country is so poor that you will have no problem finding it. Go to the rivers in both cities and you will find slum. In Chittagong I will recommend the fish market. It's a lovely experience to feel the bustle in the morning and to see the lively scenery.

Write me for details and/or look at my Flickr photos.
