Hi All

The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC indicates on it's website that obtaining a visa to enter Bangladesh is required before departure from the US.

It appears from the many posts that a visa on arrival is now available even if the country of origin has an Embassy.

I intend entering Bangladesh at Dhaka on February 1 2013 via a flight from Kuala Lumpur and will check with my Airline if they require a visa before boarding.

Have any American passport holders recently entered Bangladesh and obtained a visa on arrival without any problems? If so what was the fee payable and in what currency?

Thanks to all in anticipation of a reply.

Reports here are so. Keep in mind it is for short term duration. Longer stays would probably require the the old application process..
