I've found conflicting information on the website for the Bangladesh embassy, and some info is missing. I have a few questions about Banglash visas.

  1. Do I really need the letter of invitiation from a travel agent when applying for a visa?
  2. How long is the visa valid after it is issued?
  3. Does my 30 days start when I enter the country(like most visas), or does my 30 days start on a specific say that I indicate on the application(like Vietnamese visas)?

Thanks for your help.

Please be noted the answers :

  1. It depends from where you are taking the visa. As far as I know only BD Embassy in Germany & U.K ask for invitation letter/hotel reservation letter. But other countries it is not necessary. If u are from any of these 2 countries, let me know.

  2. Usually 30 days.

  3. The validity 30 days starts from the Visa issue date, but durtion of stay (Say 30 days) starts from when you enter the country from that day. I am sure about this.

If u need any more info, feel free to ask.

mahmud, thank you very much for your response. I'm planning to go to Bangladesh in April, so I guess it is too early for me to apply for a visa since the validity is only 30 days.

Perhaps I will get the visa in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur in March or April. Do you recommend this?

I looked at your website and I am very happy to know there is someone like you in Bangladesh. I will contact you when I am coming to Dhaka, I hope we can meet up when I am there.

Hi dalai_trauma, thanks for your comment about me. I try my best to uphold the image of my country to the travellers.

Anyway, I heard that BD embassy in BKK is very friendly to give the Visa. So, hopeful that you can get the visa from BKK without any trouble.

Other hand, please let me know if you need any kind of assistance in this regards.

Hoping your safe arrival in Dhaka.

That's great. I'll apply in Bangkok, then. Thanks again, Mahmud.

I'll keep in touch with you and try to arrange some things with you for my trip there. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Hi,
just came back from there. We got our visa on arrival at the airport, could only get 14 days and it cost 50 dollars. We stayed three weeks and were even told by the immigration at the airport that we can pay before we leave Bangladesh at the airport (the one week extra).
Not sure about applying otherwise. Good luck
