Hi All my first post on Thorn Tree

I was thinking of going to Bangladesh from the 27 April until 01 June. I know that you can get a VOA for 30 days at Dhaka airport but anyone got one for longer as my time is just over the 30 days.

Also I know May is not the best time weather wise but is that bad. (Heat/Humidity). I have been ti India 4 times and 3 of those in late April.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for your post. Being you are coming for only 34-35 days, I think take the 1 month visa first. For remaining days no need to extend the visa as it is costly (same as visa fee). Better you over stay 4 days and pay fine USD 10 (USD 2.5/day)

Reg weather as you visited India this time, you will not face any problem. In Bangladesh the wetather a bit cooler comparison to India during that Time.

Worth noting airlines will be reluctant to let you board unless you have a Bd visa in your passport, if you plan to go for the VOA, check with the airlines first! An email will be useful as something in writing in case you have problems at check-in.

Many Thanks your replies.

Will now have a good look into the flights Etc.

Mahmud have read many of your posts here, great info and a great Facebook.

Although not finished with my travels in India ( I did see some time ago your post on Indiamike and thats why Bangladesh came up) Bangladesh looks very interesting and as I love Rivers/River travel I think it could be for me.

Thanks
Paul

My partner just left Bangladesh. He got a voa no problem, flew in with Tiger. He overstayed 1 day and they just let him through without paying anything. But while we were in CHT at a couple of the checkpoints they noticed he only had a few days left on his visa, and they commented on it- so would suggest if overstaying you do the more out of the way places before your visa expires.
If you like river travel you are in for a treat. The rocket is really special.
