Hi Mahmud and everybody,
I'm sitting in my guest house in Bangkok looking for flights, and doing a bit of research about Bangladesh.
I've been planning to come for a few months, although I haven't booked anything concrete, as I wasn't sure of my exact dates.
There's a couple of things that I've read today that have given me major cold feet, and I would be interested in everybody's opinions.
-
All the realistic (ie cheap and without 12 hour layovers) flights that I can find from bangkok arrive quite late at night. Is it safe to catch a taxi from the airport to my guest house at night?? I'm a 28 year old male from New Zealand, and ill be travelling on my own.

I just read an news item about the resurfacing at Dhaka airport, and the queues and chaos that are expected. Has anybody been through in the last couple of days, and how bad is it? Does it affect the VOA system?
-
I've also read that there was a Hartel yesterday, and that there are more protests planned across the country in December. Is it currently safe to travel, or not such a good idea?
I really want to come to Bangladesh, and I have been planning to come for a long time, but I'm a little bit worried that I might be putting myself in unnecessary danger. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help
