Hi. We (11 people) are having only three days for a tour starting in Dhaka and on the 4th day have to be in the indian border of Dauki and I'm asking you for some advices regarding our itinerary.

I think to hire a minibus to make a trip:
a/
1. Dhaka - Puthia-Natore
2. Natore- Bogra (Paharpur)
3. Bogra, Dhamra, Savar, Dhaka and take a night train to Sylhet
4. to the border

or to make all tour with a minibus to the border.

I'm not sure how confortable is a night train and if I could get the tickets few days in advice in Dhaka. I tried on internet but was not able to make a booking. I also don't know how are the roads...

Would appreciate any inf's from anyone.
Thanks! Robin

If you have a Bangladesh map with you, please check this route while traveling to North,

Day 01: Dhaka - Natore Rajbari - Putia - Rajshai. (275km)
In natore, there is not good hotel have good hotel.

Day 02: _Rajshahi - Kusumba Mosque (15th Century) - Nawgoan-Paharpur- Bogra_
please change the route , otherwise you have to drive 70 km more, moreover you have to drive in the same way twice, Bogra - Paharpur - Bogra. on the other hand, if you drive Rajshahi (Silk processing, Barendra Museum) in Nawgon Kusumba Mosque, Paharpur, then drive to Bogra will be worthwhile.
Day 03: Bogra - Srirajgong - Tangile (Atia Mosue)- Dhamrai (Poterry & Metal craft)- Dhaka
I believe this one would be better, including Shirajgong hand loom weaving village, Atia mosque in Tangile both of this will be close to the roadside and you can add on your travel.
Day 04: Dhaka - Old Capital Sonagaon - Sylhet - Tamabil land boarder
Even for this day, i will re command you to drive with the tourist coach, bcz then Old capital sonargaon you would add, alot of brick factory and rice factory could be your stop over, from Sylhet train station to Tamabil land boarder about 37 km far from town, with 11 pax it will never be a good idea to use public transport with these luggage. this is from my practical experience when i travel with my groups.

this trip you place, most of the road r good, specially the Dhaka - Sylhet road is now one of the best road in Bangladesh. Train to get 11 seats is quite difficult in the night train at a same time. if you can able to get slipper in the first class compartmental then, it will be relaxing.

You want to do all of this in 3 days? Madness imo.

Earlier you planned to leave BD by Akhaura border, now changed to Tomabil/Dauki...

As far as I assumes, if u want tos ee so many things in such small time, this will be only a road trip nothing else.

Thanks a lot for your help!
Yes at first we wanted to go to Tripura and fly to Imphal, but b'cos of often road blockades we can not risk to stuck in Imphal, so we decided to enter India in Meghalaya.
I like this itinerary, just we should be in India on the 4th day in the morning, so I think that we will try to get a first class sleeper to Sylhet and than I should rent a minibus to get to the border.
Would kindly ask you if you could give me the information how to book train tickets (we arrive to Dhaka on the 2nd of Feb.) and if you have a contact from somebody in Sylhet from whom we could rent a minibus. I prefer taking a night train to consume less time for travel and that we don't have to pay return trip for minibus to Dhaka.
Thanks again! Robin

Hi Robin, listen to me. Forget Train ticket. Because now a days it is quite impossible to collect 108 sleeper class rickets within such small time unless you have a ministers recommendation :)

Better, you can take Aircon Luxury bus service. If so, I can help you. I also will be able to arrange a Microbus (13 seater) to border.

You can contact with my brother too regrading this issue.

For rent Car from Sylhet: you may contact with Him, Name /: Mr. Yusuf (owner come drive of car) 8801715600565, contact with him directly,
Sleeper class will not be possible i think for a big group like yours, but if you can able to buy at lest 3 days in advance than you will get the Chair coach seats, on the other hand, bus services could be a option for you. IN this route , we have some luxurious Bus company going though like Green Line, Shohag Volvo, you can tickets from any the counter any day.
