Hi all, just planning my trip to Kazakhstan as part of an overland trip to China and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of decent hostels in Astana. The couple of hostels on Hostelworld look really dodgy and another one that was recommended, the Apple Hostel, doesn't seem to have a working website but it has had some recommendations on here.
I'm thinking of spending one or two nights in Astana en route to Novosibirsk so it would be good if there was a place where there is the odd…

Does anyone have a recommended Airbnb for Almaty? We're looking for somewhere relatively convenient for the main sights, and not in too nightlife-y or touristy an area of town, somewhere a bit more leafy and laid back. Ideally it'd be great to have a view of the city with the mountains.
Is it possible to get double entry visa on arrival at Tashkent Airport? How many days should I apply for the visa ? Say, if I first stay in Uzbekistan for 10 days, then leave for 5 days, and back for 2 days, then should I request a visa for 17 days with double entry?

Has anyone actually done this recently and if so where did you stay/did you camp? I am in Tashkurgan now but all news seems to suggest don’t bother as not allowed to overnight?
Hello, I arrive in Tashkent next Saturday the 16th, and I have 11 full days in Uzbekistan. I believe I have time for the three principal Silk Road cities and a day or two in Tashkent, plus something additional. I was thinking either a day or two in the Ferghana Valley from Tashkent, or Shakhrizabz from Samarkand, or I fly directly to Nukus from Tashkent and do a day trip to the Area Sea area around Moynoq. Currently my itinerary looks like this:
Saturday, 16 June- Fly to Tashkent, arrive…
