Any Australians visited Uzbekistan since the introduction of the new visas?

We are two travellers from Sydney trying to organise a trip to Uzbekistan in late July. We are trying to apply for tourist visas as they now do not require you to travel on a tour and without a letter of invitation. We have to send our passports to Singapore but it is unclear how we organise this.

Has anyone applied for visas this year? Any help is much appreciated!

Hi, anyone who has been recently to Kazakhstan and took the high speed train (Talgo)? If yes, can you please tell me what are the numbers of those trains? I'm doing a search in tickets.kz and the fastest train there takes 14 hours and it is really an old train, as per the pics they have in "About Train". I'm just wondering if that is a Talgo train (it is a train that departs at 15:35).

Working out logistics and I saw it will surprisingly take ca. 5 hrs to get from Almaty to Bishkek .... and then I'll have to find a Marshrutka to get me to Karakol. Is that doable in 1 day ?
