Can english books be easily found in Kashgar or Bishkek? Specifically LP Tibet?

Howdy!

Just wondering, is it possible to change iranian rials in herat?
I would assume so because of the commerce, but is is possible through more official moneychangers?

Is it better to get afghani in mashad? If so where is the best place?

Same again for Afghani to pakistani Rupees?
Change in Peshawar? Or Kabul?

Next month I am planning to drive my 4WD from Moscow to Almaty. Can anyone advise the best way across the border to Kazakhstan. The Lonely Planet shows a highway from Samara to Uralsk. However, it does not show a Customs post on this highway (M32).

It appears there is another way which follows the railway line from Orenburg to Aktobe – Does anyone know if there is Customs at this point for motor vehicles i.e. where the railway lines crosses the border. I think this could be a town called or…

Going to Uzbekistan next July from Spain (Spanish nacoinality), any of you could tell me if I can get my visa at the aeroport in Tashkent and how "hard" can it be? I've sent messages to the uzbez tourism office and embassy in Paris, no answer.
And, by the way, I'll be travelling alone, nice to share a taxi or a chat as it seems to be difficult with locals...

I just came from Pakýstan on my way home and went through Afghanýstan. In Peshawar I was stýll reluctant though to apply for a výsa, but when some other travellers arrýved wýth decýded to go for ýt together. Just thought we would write to say how fantastic it was staying at the Saulet in Almaty.
It was only 1200 tenge each for my girlfiend and i. It was in the heart of the city and very close to all the necessary embassies.
It only cost 4 US dollars for a taxi from the station to the saulet. valentinas, wanted a staggering 17 dollars US ( i still do not know how they think they can get
