Can anyone give me an recent price for the following UZB trains?
Tashkent - Samarkand
Samarkand - Bukhara

Just a question in two parts for cycling Afghanistan.
1) Will i get an Afgahan visa in Peshawar to cycle through Afg.
2) Is the central route via Bamiyan and Minaret of jam ok or Mazar-i-Sharif better?? Is cycling through Afg. just really crazy or just risky??
Thanks for your time
Kian
I found a website for Pamir Airways via Pajhwok Afghan News.
Are they any good? Any opinions?
We (2 persons) are a looking for fellow travelers to share costs passing the Torugart pass from Kyrg. into China first week of july.
Combined we can speak english, german, spanish, french, scandinavian languages and some russian. hopefully this may be enough to negotiate a better price. mails have also been sent to various kyrg. travel agencies asking for prices.
please reply to heywickie@gmail.com if this sounds interesting...
Hello,
does anybody knows some correct information about transport costs to Naryn/Bischkek from Kashgar? Or is there anybody who wants to travel at this time?
My last offer of NoviNomad (a kyrgys travel agancy) was 185 US$ per person. My opinion: it's to expensive.
All the best

In ancient times (AKA before the internet), poste restante was used to recieve letters from the homefront. I suppose noboby uses this anymore....
Do people still use this system to recieve books and guidebooks while on the road?????
As I will be travelling Central Asia for 2 or 3 months before entering China in Kashgar, I was wondering if it might be a good idea to ask somebody to send me my (heavy) guidebooks for China to Kashgar 'poste restant'.
Will the Kashgar post office be familiar with this…
Maybe something for the 'sticky'?
Can I rely on money from ATM's in :
Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Samarkant, Bukhara);
Tadjikistan (Khojand(?), Dushambe, Khorog(?));
Kyrgystan (Osh(?), Bishkek, Lake Issyk-kul).
If there is no ATM in some of these places, I suppose Travellers Cheques are no option either.....
Should I change my cash euros into dollars, or are euros readily accepted by banks and moneychangers?
Hi All,
I do not want to bother everyone with repeating questions over and over again, but after thorough research (reading, travel agencies, embassies and forums) there are still some contradictions - and gaps - which need clarification, so any help is most welcome
For your understanding, the background:
- I will be travelling with a friend
- being belgian, we do not need a LOI for Uzbekistan
- all visa will be touristic visa
Our intended 4 week route:
(flight to) Tashkent
>>>crossing border via…
I look for someone for company and sharing costs of taxi etc... on way from Peshawar to Kabul.
I pick up my Afg visa on Friday (15 June) in Islamabad and the same day go to Peshawar.
I'd like to cross the border on 16-17 June eventually 18.
My mobile in Pakistan:

please contact me by mobile as I don't have access to net very often.
