Hi everybody,
has anybody done the trip from Osh/Jalalabad to Naryn lately? (I am currently in Osh.)
I am interested in means of transport (shared taxi, buses, minibuses), travelling times between places ( I suppose I have to spend a night in Kazarman), approximate prices for transport, how easy it is to catch transport from Jalalabad to Kazarman and from Kazarman to Naryn and safety in Kazarman and Naryn.
Is it true that there is no problem to leave Naryn for Bishkek or Lake Issyk-kul?

We are wondering if anyone has taken the train from Nukus in Uzbekistan, in to Kazakhstan and then ending in , Astrakahn in Russia. If so do you have information about prices and timetables.

we had an "incident" with valentine from Yak Tours in Karakol which i thought i should write about. first he was very nice to us, but after finding out we are independent trekkers that don't want to pay his prices he stopped being nice. we wanted to be fair with him so we told him we will take a ride with him from Altyn Arshan to Karakol and pay 200 com each, a price of a ride which is not a taxi, just when he goes anyways (and that was the situation, we made it clear). we rode with him and…

Has anyone recently taken the train from Almaty to Tashkent? I need to do a round trip (whirlwind, unfortunately) next weekend.

Do you recommend going through an agency or just picking up tickets directly from a train station? Or, is flying a realistic option?

Thinking about spending a week to ten days travelling between Bishkek and Almaty, probably in the second half of October this year, after Ramadan.

Any tips about what and where to go, local transport, climate, health/safety/security, crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, and visa info (UK passport holder living in London).

Are there likely to be any special events connected with Eid, and is travel/sightseeing difficult in either country during Ramadan?

I m in Bishkek now, heading via Uzbekistan to Aktau and then hope to cross to Baku. Here are few questions:
