2 friends and I (3 30-something males) are going to land in Tashkent early morning of March 21st. Is there an easily accessible village in the countryside where we could catch a game of kupkari / ulak and otherwise join in the Nauryz / Navrus / Nowryz celebration?
It's hard to find ulak near Tashkent, as it requires good place and a lot of men good at horse riding and ulak :-)
If you need exactly ulak it's better to go to Samarkand, Shakhrisabz.
In Tashkent there will be many celebrations (hope on good weather), but mostly in more modern way. There are however villages in Tashkent region, but not sure where exactly, need to talk to tourist agencies.
Usually closer to this holiday local travel agency put the information on their web sites. As I know the best place of buzkashi/kupkari is located in small village near Samarkand city.
