Dear All
Did anyone get the Uzbekistan visa on arrival at Tashkent airport recently? Is there any hassle at the
Immigration office there? Is it just simply filling the form and paying and that's all? It is said that
you have to wait for some hours before someone like an immigration officer coming out..
please kindly advise.

Well, I did it last summer, took a couple of hours as there were a big group of Italians too. You have to fill out 2 declarations, keeping one. Be accurate about the amount of money, they can ask to see your money (did that to me). It was not difficulty to get through, just a lot of waitingtime. Go straight to the arrival section and find the declarationsforms to fill out. They have a russian side and an english side, but the text is the same and you have to write the same on both forms. Getting out quick and start filling out the forms might save you a considerable amount of time unless there is a big tourgroup as they apparently will take them first. 50 middleaged people on a tour takes a looong time to get through.

I did it this summer, and for us it was not quite like anaya describes. It might depend on which country you are from, but we got assistance from a local travel agent and applied via them. Then we got the visa upon arrival from a visa booth which was to the right just before the immigration. We paid 70 USD each and it took five minutes. Passport control took more. When you get through this control you have to fill out the two costums declaration forms which were only available in Russian - but we got some in English when we asked one of the uniformed men there in the area where you wait for the luggage. It was actually waiting for the luggage that was the delaying factor for us. It took an hour. You keep one of the two forms until you leave - when you have to fill out another one - but for us it was no control - they just stamped them and seemed very uninterested. We had a fantastic stay. I wish the same for you.

YOU MUST have a letter of introduction/"visa support" from a travel agency or you run the risk of being deported.
