Anybody get their Uzbek visa in Bishkek any time recently?
When is it open? How long does it take? I'd like to plan my trip around it.
I am an American national. I had StanTours send my LOI to the Bishkek embassy so it should be waiting for me there.
Any information would be GREATLY appreciate.

when i was there last september it was open each weekday 10am-12, 1-4pm. You need to phone ahead to get your name on the list (need a russian speaker to do this). Then you arrive at the given day/time, usually 1-2 days after you phoned. You MUST arrive with a russian speaker, unless you speak it yourself, you enter, fill out a form, give them a photo, pay (for me it was $65US), & i recieved my visa the same day at 3pm, although this can take 1-2 days, depends on your nationality & the mood of the people who work there.
I personally had no problems with this process, maybe because i had a russian speaker with me. Also i heard of other people being refused visas due to their occupation - journalists, etc. If you think yopu have a riskee job, maybe its best to lie on the form cos they'd never check it.
