Torugart crossing Kyrgystan-China around 27/28 sept 2010

We (a Dutch couple of 40/47 years) are planning to cross the border via the Torugart Pass to China around the 27th or 28th September 2010. Via the organisation CBT we have an offer of 380 dollar in total (for 2 persons) which includes transport from Naryn (Kyrgystan) to Kashgar (China). Hopefully we can find some other persons, so we can share the costs. Please let us know. We leave Holland on 4 September and from 9 September it will be difficult to contact us, because of our trip through the inlands. On 25 September we will be in Kochkor again, where we can make use of the internet again.

I will be at Bishkek on 29th sept. If you have some more days we can share the bus to Kashgar. I can try to get to Naryn the same day and we can leave on 30th sept. or on the 1st oct. Let me know if this is possible for you.

Thank you for your answer. It would be great to share a taxi. But do you know the border will close from 1th October until 10th October because of the national day in China. Everything will be closed for at least one week. So therefore we wanted to cross the border a bit earlier to be sure to reach Kashgar and not taking the risk to arrive at a closed border. We already have an offer for 320 USD for 3 persons, so that means 107 USD per person. Please let us know your plans. Hopefully we will get more people and we keep on looking futher!!

nicolemarjan, if you for some reason decide to go AFTER the border reopens (October 10-11th), me and the mrs would definitely be interested in sharing a car. Send me a pm if you do =)

Oh I didn't know yet, but I can't be earlier at Bishkek because of a trip in usbekistan. Maybe it is better to stay in kyrgystan till the end of the national day and cross the border a bit later, I don't know.
The earliest I can be at Naryn is on 29th sept. so that we could start on 30th sept.
If we cross the border later we can share a car with 5 people, is that right?

Unfortunately, our visa are valid until the 4th October...so we cannot wait until 10th October. We can think about 30th september, but we cannot afford any delay that day as it is the last day before the closure of a week. and as the border opening times are unpredictable our preference to go is before 30th September. Please let us know your plans?

we're three poeple from Poland in Bishkek at the moment. We're crossing the Tourgart pass on Mon 27th (100% sure). We're be more than happy to share the costs of a taxi. As we asked at Novinomad it's possible to hire a van/bus from Naryn to the border if there's more of us. The approx cost per van is 180 $ (for all of us to share) plus the cost of a taxi on the Chinese side 60$ per person.
