Hi all,
My heading sums it up. I have a 6 month overland trip planned from Japan to Africa. Everything is in place for the trip and the dates can't be changed. Only now I have realised that it may be too cold to cross the himalaya mountains from Tibet to Nepal in December. Everything hinges on this being a possibility. I read in another link that October was the final month for crossing. Can anybody validate this claim? Does anyone know if it is feasible or dangerous to do this crossing at this time. If it's not feasible what would the limit be?

Thankyou for your information

You may want to repost this question at the Tibet sub-branch of the North-East Asia branch and/or Nepal sub-branch of the Indian Subcontinent branch.

I tried this crossing, 6 years ago, in late February or early March; no problems. To the best of my knowledge the road is open year round.

The Friendship Highway between Tibet and Nepal is open year around. Dont worry.
You might have read about the Karakorum between Pakistan and China, that one closes around november due to weather.
