Hi, I want to travel from Sary Tash (Kyrgyzstan) to Murghab (Tajikistan) via the Pamir Highway (then on to Dushanbe) what's the most cost effective way to do this? I've heard of shared 4x4's for around $250 that can be organised in Osh. any other motorised options this late in the year?

Thanks for any info

Osh is really the only realistic place to find some transports going to Murghab I'm afraid.

There are shared taxis waiting at Sary Tash to take to you Murghab. It is a gamble though especially so late into the year as the tourist season has waned. You can take a taxi from Osh, but that just means paying a higher price to cover the Osh-Sary Tash part.

You can get on a public 4WD to Murghab in Osh, those vehicles are full when they pass Sary Tash.
