I just read from people about the difficulty and time waiting around in Osh trying to arrange transport along the Pamirs Hwy to Khorog. Im travelling alone and plan to arrive in Osh at the beginning of August with the same trip in mind. I already emailed the Osh Guesthouse a couple of times telling them my plans in case they had other travellers with the same journey in mind and at the same time. The fact that the owner of the Osh Guesthouse is away may explain why I never got any replies to emails I sent. So if anyone else is going to be around Osh at the same time with a plan to get transport down the hwy let me know

I made the same trip one year ago during September and have put a "Kirgizstan" post on the general Central Asian thread around last October. There are some details about the way Danyar from Osh GH runs this business with the drivers allowed to drive into Tajikistan. Note also that it is sometimes - but not always - possible to find at the main taxi stand in front of the market someone doing the way for his own business and ready to take someone to help with the cost of gas and bribes to soldiers.
