LOI issued by guesthouse in Uzbekistan

Dear all,

I've booked a couple on nights at a guesthouse in Bukhara and they asked me whether I need a LOI. I actually do need one, and I was going to use one of the standard travel agents that are frequently mentioned on TT. The procedure through the guesthouse however seems much easier and cheaper (I would only pay upon arrival, for instance), and in fact it looks so much easier that I am concerned whether this LOI is really OK.

has anyone obtained a LOI from a hotel or guesthouse in Uzbekistan? Did it work all right?

I have limited time to obtain my visa en route (I will stop in Istanbul just for a couple of days to do that) so I want to make sure this is safe and that my LOI will be accepted.

sorry, this was a misunderstanding. It turns out that they do not provide LOIs, they just direct you to a travel agent (even though several hotels advertise the service on their websites). The procedure is basically the same as everywhere else.
