Hi,

I just got my Tajik visa and GBAO permit at their Vienna embassy.
My visa says what I asked for, that I'm allowed to stay in the country from sept 1. 2007 to oct 1. 2007.

But my GBAO permit is more difficult to decipher, since I don't understand Russian. There are two dates on it. The one in the bottom line is 2007.06.06, which is the date the permit was issued. The one in the top line is 2007.10.01. I really hope this is the EXPIRAL date of the permit and not the date when it STARTS.

Can anyone who has had a GBAO permit issued before help me figure this out? According to my permit when am I allowed into the Pamirs?

Thanks so much!

Oh, and by the way, the GBAO permit was stamped into my passport, but here http://www.traveltajikistan.com/visas/gbao.html it says that it should be a piece of paper. So what's the deal with this?

I got the same from the embassy in Vienna. I got a 45-day visa from 1.9.07 - 15.10.07 and a stamped GBAO permit.
It says "To 15.10.2007 с. ичозвт додв шуд" on their although the "B" could also be some other letter.......

Maybe if somebody could translate that?

Thanks

Hey Moose, we might bump into each other in the Pamirs :-)

Anyway, I hope they didn't make the same mistake twice, so this must mean that the date on the GBAO permit indicates the date when the permit expires. Still, it would be nice if someone could confirm this.

Actually I assumed it's the expiry date. Your thread made me take another look. Anyway, the language on there is Tajik as I asked some Russian to translate (which they couldn't).

I sent you a PM, please have a look.

Cheers

Well, my GBAO perm it (from Vienna) also has two dates, which I assume are issue and expiry dates. At least the days matches to those same days in the visa. So in theory my GBAO permit is valid now, even if my visa is not.
