I stayed at the Gulnara a few days ago, it's a nice place and good for meeting other people. However, some of the other guests also said they tried to contact them through e-mail and never got an answer. As the place seemed to be pretty full all the time, your best bet might be to contact them by phone.

Most places I stayed in Uzbekistan had email addresses which ended with .ru instead of .uz

When I was there I couldnt get them on the phone either so I stayed elsewhere.
