And how much does it cost approximately?

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a good non-technical trek in the Pamirs for this summer? Before I am bombarded with online commercial links I am looking only for advice from those who have personal experience of the area. I have read one good review of a trek from Yashikul lake to Sarez lake, has anyone done this?

I am equally interested in an itinerary anyone has from the Fan mountains, a 4 to 5 day trek is what I am looking for.

Am looking at visiting Tajikstan and perhaps Uzbekistan for up to 3 weeks at end of July this summer.

Can anyone give me reccommendations on most practical way to get there from the UK.

I'm guessing value wise, it'd be best to fly to Tashkent then overland to Tajik??.....or perhaps to Almaty and then onwards???

I'm going to be in Dushanbe for about a week at the end of February. My goal is to see the city- I'm really interested in old Soviet cities and am excited to visit the museums. Beyond this however, I realize a full week in Dushanbe might be a little too much time, so I was thinking of popping somewhere for either a overnight or a day trip. I'd like to go someplace far enough that I can see a little variation in the country, but not so far that I don't have enough time in Dushanbe.

I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has Hitched the Pamir highway and would be able to give me some tips on hitch-hiking from Murghab to Khorog via Alichur. I am unsure of what season I will be doing this in as I don't have time restrictions in other countries I will be in previous to this but any info would be great!

I wonder if someone could offer some advice please. I'm planning a trip to Tajikistan in summer 2013 (need to get saving!) and am trying to work out some details. I want to do some trekking in the Fan mountains and then travel the Pamir highway, via the Wakhan, to Osh.
Does anyone know:
a) Is it possible to do either of these independently and, if not..
b) Can you recommend any agencies who could help with ground arrangements?

we will be coming to Uzbekistan in March 2012. We are thinking of going to TJ for up to three days (from Samarkand). Do you think that it is possible to see the 7 lakes of Shing and Iskander Kul (with 4x4, we plan no trekking or very little trekking) in March (around 15th of March). How much time do we need to do this? We prefer one day trips. Whre shoul we base ourselves?
Any idea how to arrange a 4x4 with a driver to see the lakes?

I could need some help / feedback for a trip to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Unfortunately I'm travelling there not for tourism, but for my work.
I have to get to the following places

• Dushanbe

Im planning on driving the Pamir Highway around early August 2012. I know the road conditions change year to year, but was wondering about the typical time it takes to get from Murgab to Osh, Kyrgyzstan? Some people told me that it can be done in a day, others say no. Any opinions out there?

And about Osh. August 2012 is quite a ways away, and things change without notice I know, but what's Osh like now, security wise I mean? Has anyone been there recently? Would anyone have any…
