Hello,

Does anybody have any experience with the Uzbek embassy in Dushanbe ?
I will have to arrange the transit visa for Uzbekistan there (no LOI necessary).
Can I just go to the embassy or should I make an appointment before (as in Uzbek embassy in Bishkek) ?

Hi mike
i was there in mid april this year..this what i posted previously

In Dushanbe tajikistan the Turkmenistan consulate is friendly to deal with and can organise a 5 day transit visa, in a urgent way within 5 days of lodging..he will help you fill in the application form, The iran embassy here is also friendly, just get your paper work done with a iran tourist agency for the conformation number...same day issue

the Uzbek embassy will issue tourist visa same day as long as you have LOI,like from stan tours....

I DIDNT GO THE TRANSIT VISA,,JUST THE 30 TOURIST VISA..AND I GOT THE loi FROM DAVID AT STANTOURS
NO ENGLISH IS SPOKEN THERE SO TAKE SOME ONE WHO SPEAKS RUSKI OR UZBEK
NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED..JUST THE RIGHT LOI AND THE APPLICATION PAPERS THEN A SAME DAY VISA

I HAVE AUSSIE PASSPORT
hope this helps

FYI they understand some Tajik too. The proceedings are opaque but eventually effective--note that I have only gone with an LOI to get visa there (twice). You will need US$ in cash.

Uzbek Transit visa without a letter of introduction - in May 2011. British and NZ Passports.

Submitted the application on Monday and told to return on Friday. Returned on Friday and waited for 3 hours - then told visa not available as they hadn't heard back from Tashkent.

Returned on Monday and got visa at 12pm (which is when the embassy closes) - cutting it very fine to get a flight from Tashkent on Tuesday.

Not very helpful or even very polite staff in the embassy, but Tajiks who were in the office applying for visas were as usually helpful.

No appointment - turn up in the morning and join the small scrum. They take in all the applications and then start handing out visas from previous applications.

I'd say best to allow at least 1 week for visa.
