can someone tell me how much would it cost to travel through pamir witrh a hired car and a driver per day and where is the best place to find one if entering tajikistan from osh? how much should one pay for accomodation in pamir? it seems prices in lp have risen dramaticly.

Prices reflect the huge increases in petrol costs in the region and the latest prices for transportation of any consumer goods.
Watch out for any issues with altitude sickness - its a steep climb from Osh up to 4500m and the high passes in Tajikistan and some people can be seriously ill.

Car rental is generally expensive (4x4) - best to share. I am not sure how much, I do not remember.
As to the accommodation: in most villages you have at least two local guesthouses. At the time of our visit NGOs seemed to run local projects to raise awareness about good practices for renting out a room. This has had two major consequences: light increase in price, and appearance of the occasional shower and toilet. We paid around 10-15 USD/person. I doubt that it is much more expensive now since you are paying for basic accommodation (but great hospitality).

Prices for 4x4 varies between 0,65 to 0,85 $ per km. An additional 20 $ per day for the driver's accommodation and meals.
I'd recommend you to drive with the public transportation from Osh to Murghab (approx. 50 $US per passenger) and then in Murghab hire a 4x4 to travel in the pamiri High plateau and then drive to Khorog via the Wakhan corridor. Home-stays/guest houses will cost you 17-22 $US (bed and 2 meals)
