I've just checked through the number of new posts on the forum this summer for Tajikistan:
June = 19
July = 23
August = 13
September (nearly half way through) = 2

Its not an obvious indicator for adventure tourism activity but it does seem to be reflecting the impact of the problems in Khorog and on the Pamir Highway.

I wonder if forum activity is a useful indicator of adventure tourism trade volumes?

New posts basically are people asking for info or more rarely, people sharing info. A slightly more accurate way of measuring interest in TJ tourism might be via page-views, if you could track them, but even then, it wouldn't be truly accurate. There's no doubt been a huge spike of interest as to whether or not the Pamir highway is open. Dushanbe in the past months has been full of sad backpackers trying to figure out their next move.
