Hi there,
I will be trying to do nothing in Dushanbe for the next two weeks and the only other thing I'd like to try to do is to play some tennis.
Does anyone know of a club, teacher, hotel, where I can do this? I'll bring my tennis racket from Burma if I need to.

Also, anyone know where I can buy an old Soviet Atlas? There used to be a few souvenir shops near Ayni Street, but they're closed. The book ladies on Somoni with their abandoned damn water machines are also a good chance, but they don't have them either anymore.

Thanks for traveling,
Fox-

I saw plenty of Soviet-era maps, but never looked for an atlas. Books are sold under Rudaki at the corner of Tsum (the flower market), so maybe someone there can help. There are now souvenir shops near the corner of Rudaki and Somoni (across from the presidential palace), but they sell mostly handicrafts, including from Afghanistan.

I really can't help with tennis. Sorry. Bowling? Sure.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.

Suitcased Soul, you can always check Castle of Tennis which is next to the Frunze Stadium along I. Somoni street.
