Hello all,
I will be heading to Dushanbe for a three month internship that begins the end of August. I am looking for an apartment within close proximity to the Grand Asia Hotel (the organizations base). But my budget will only be around 200-400 a month. Any suggestions or leads? I am also open to homestays and shares!

Hi. Assuming that you are interning for EFCA? If so they are no longer based out of the Asia Grand. The website is operated by the Bishkek office, so they haven't updated the information for the Dushanbe office in a bit. EFCA-Tajikistan is now based out of a nice converted home on Nissor Mukhammad Street (same street as the Green Bazaar) about a 10 minute walk east of the bazaar. There aren't too many nice housing options in that area, so I would recommend looking into apartments near the Opera Ballet or further up Rudaki near the Tsum (you should be able to find both of these on a map of the city). Plenty of nice Soviet-era apartment complexes in these areas.
EFCA should be able to recommend good apartments for you, but if not you can easily find apartments once you get there. Expats are often coming and going, so you should be able to find a reasonable place for around $400-$500 pretty quickly.
Just finished a 3 month stint with EFCA, so I'm sure you'll have a great time!
