Is this even worth thinking about?? I know the countries don't have the best relations. Has anyone recently tried??

I aimed to travel through Uzbek --> Tajik --> Kyrgyz --> China. I'm British national and the Tajik embassy it seems is charging £60 for the visa and a further £50 for a GBAO permit, essential for a trip throught the Pamirs. Any ideas of a cheaper method? Anyone recently received a visa in Tashkent?

Thanks

No problems with obtaining Tajikistan visa in Tashkent if having LOI. The same for GBAO. If you don't have the LOI - it depends on... average population of elephants in the Republic of Uganda :-)

I think it is better to get it sorted in UK you never know the rules keep changing for these countires and i dont think you are going to save that much.
so better sort it out before you leave.

i've just received a tajik tourist visa in tashkent. ask the embassy guards for 'ilmira' from the tourist agency, she has her office right next to the embassy. i made a visa for one week, it costed me 95 usd and took a week to process.
