this is something I promised to Shodi, the guy that arranged our great driver, Sagin, and with whom we arranged all the details about the great 11 days we spent in the Pamirs at the end of September.
It was really the highlight all of my five weeks travelling through Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. I will never forget it, people were wonderful to us and landscapes harsh and breathtaking, so beautiful, and also because I bet we really were the first foreigners in going there after the armed conflict they had, it gave it a special sense for me.
We went about four days after the Tajik president reopened the road from Dushanbe to Khorog.
