Hello, does anyone have first-hand recent experience of border crossing points for foreign nationals between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan? Cheers!
I understand that Kyzylart-Bor Dobo should be open.
Karamyk? Open? Closed?
Isfara. Looks like it's probably open. Would it be possible to go from Isfara to Osh without having to enter the Uzbekistan enclaves?
Thanks!

Not first hand knowledge but we will be coming down from Khujand to Batken and then Osh in late May. I understand that it is possible to avoid the Uzbek enclaves coming that way depending on your driver and the state of the back roads at that time of the year. When are you proposing to go through? As for the Karamyk crossing, I sought an answer from official channels and received no response.

I will be passing through in mid-late May. I've had a look at google maps to see what kind of roads or tracks circumvent the enclaves and it doesn't look very promising. I guess the picture on the ground is better.

Oh goody, you will be on the ground before us. Please let us know how you fare, what you see and whether it really was worth it. Actually all travel is worth it and it is amazing how often the bad bits turn out to be the most memorable.

I have contact to a local boarder official here in Osh and did travel a view times arround the enclaves comming from Isfara to Osh. That works good.
Border Posts.
As some others commented:
Kyzel-Art is open
Isfara is open

The news is that Karamyk is closed now. I just asked the boarder official a week ago as I wanted to cross there my self. No I need to go all the way to Isfara-Dushanbe in order to do the Pamir Highway.
From Osh it would have been great to go via Sary-Tash Karamyk to the Pamir Highway. I will put some time in to find out whether the post could be opened for toursits again. We will see what I can do . . . .
