Hello,I'd like some advice about my trip in tajikistan, nearly 1 month this summer, 2 persons but we can join others to share price:
this is my idea for the moment, I'd like to avoid to carry tent and camping gear, it seems there are places with yourts in Pamir..

day1 wednesday arrival early morning getting GBAO permit possible?
day 2 dushanbé
day 3 going to penjikent 8h
day 4,5,6 trek
day 7 going back back to dushanbe
day8 dushanbé
day9 going to khorog 21 h

16 days to go to Murgab and go back, visiting and hiking: place near Murgab?, wakkhan corridor, geisev valley

4 days left to go back to dushanbe

is it intersesting to visit places on the way? possible by local transport?do I have to do that?
in Khorog, I'll need to contact agency, If you have contact...I think I'll try META in Murgab
thanks for your ideas, SBZ

hello, I don't know how I can arrange in advance, I read differents reports about this permit, it seems things changed in may this year for the visa and I hope to know more through travellers in June. I'll do my visa at the aeroport.
have a nice day, Kris

Your intinerary looks good & timing very realistic.

Your GBAO permit is easy to obtain on Wednesday morning. If you follow the advice on LP I reckon you can get it in 2 hours.

For the first part of your trip - I live in Penjikent and can recommend trips for trekking in Fann mountains if you are interested. There are homestays in the lower valleys where you can stay if you prefer not to camp.

In Zerafshan Tourism Board office in Penjikent they rent tents and sleeping bags, organise drivers, donkey handlers and can book accomodaiton. Staff speak English, so its worth popping into the office there. Website is a bit difficult to follow but there is some information about trekking. http://www.zerafshan.info/places/fan-mountains
