Hi folks! We’ll be soon coming to Tajikistan insh’allah. We intend to cross from UZ to TJ at Sariosiyo-Tursanzade border crossing on 18/8. I have found lots of useful info here already but I still have couple of questions left for TT travel experts:
(1) Eid-i-Ramazon: Is it correct that it will it take place on 19/8 this year? How is it felt in TJ - Restaurants open? Possible to travel around?
(2) Dushanbe-Penjikent: Current price/timing pp for shared taxi? How is it with travelling from Dushanbe to Penjikent during Eid-i-Ramazon time?
(3) Situation at the Isfara (TJ) / Batken (KG) border: according to some previous posts, crossing is easy. Any recent experience incl. further travel to Osh? Would it perhaps be a better idea to travel from Khojand to Osh via UZ - Kokand/Andijan (we have multiple-entry UZ visas)?
Thnx in advance for any reply! Cheers, Bostjan

If you are worried about food, stop at any bazaar and load up.
Restaurants should be open after sunset, and you may travel all you want.
The road from Khojand to Osh passes by an excellent lake with many guest houses, but bring your own food if you stay over-night.
Travel during Ramadan can get a bit hectic especially in the heat.
