I was just wondering if anyone could direct me to any buzkashi matches either in Dushanbe (yes, I know it's a city--still, can't hurt to ask), or in the near vicinity. If you don't know of any specifically, do you know maybe a source where I could? Thanks!

Buzkashi happens in the winter in Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The horses and players overheat - it's a tiring game!

In Kyrgyzstan, some matches apparently happen around Independence day (aug 31) but I have never seen this personally.

Yes you will be very unlikely to see a match much later than Navruz (late March) around Dushanbe.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.
