I have searched for budget accommodation in Dushanbe with no luck. Does anyone have a recommendation that is fairly central and around 10$? With wifi would be great.

Thanks

Adventure Inn, but price is $15 with free wifi and self catering kitchen. If u hv tent, u can camp at their garden very cheaply.

Are u already in Tajik now, Jasonleecifer? Which border did u cross from Kyrgyz - Tajik? I was told that Bor Dobo - Kara Kul border is close for tourist, and I want to confirm this.

I wish you good luck to contact them in advance...
You have some old ex-soviet hotels in the city.
I will be there at the beginning of May

Thanks! I am staying in Adventurer's Inn right now. I crossed into Tajikistan via the Pamir highway from Sary Tash - Murgab.

Jasonleecifer,
Is the rate (USD15) correct (private room)?
Is it inclusive of breakfast?
If u hv a GPS, can u gv me the coordinates?
And how is the road condition from Sary Tash? Any washed out section (due to melting snow @ landslide)?

Hiya,

Is anyone staying at the Adventure Inn atm? I'm having extreme trouble getting in touch with them- they haven't responded to emails and the phone number is constantly engaged. Have they changed their number, or does the Adventure Inn still exist? I'm looking to stay there for about a month between August and September.

Thanks!
John

It´s still exist but they don't check their emails !
I was in Farang, just behind the cirk. A good and cheap option (60 TJS)

I just posted this reply in another thread, but here it is again:

I've stopped by Adventurer's Inn in September, and it looked like a dump. It seems it has suffered a Lonely Planet effect: got into the guidebook and stopped giving a damn.

There's a mold in the rooms and the air doesn't circulate very well; the whole place looked dirty and poorly maintained.

With Dushanbe's poor accommodation choice, we thought we were stuck with Adventurer's inn, but luckily found a nice homestay just a couple minutes walk away. The owner spoke English and the rooms were much much better value for a lower price.

Here are the contacts:

Ahror (the owner) + 992 98 580 70 18
ahr.rahmonov@gmail.com
The address is ulitsa Radisheva 22

This place is on the other side of the sewage pipe bridge.

A stay in Ahror's home is now $25 per night per person, with no discount for staying longer.

Farang could be a realistic option.
